This issue is probably not what you were expecting. We've gone light on poetry, a bit heavier on prose, and positively heavy on music. As a result, what follows is a new trend for our journal. And speaking of new trends, I made a point of including at least a few "newer" writers--i.e. those without a long list of credits.
And so, when I began work on this issue I realized that I wanted to be as "hands on" as possible. I read every unsolicited/solicited submission myself--the first time I've done this in many years--and molded the best issue I could based on my own tastes and ideas. I didn't bother trying to count how many submissions we received with any precision, but it was a lot. I'd say that the toughest part was having to say no to so many good people. Truly, that sucks. On the other hand, it was truly a delight to read the submissions I ultimately accepted. If you haven't already done so, visit our blog at inertiamagazine.com/blog.
